Overview

The OTT vendorscape is currently undergoing a radical transformation. Advances in cloud technology and the market entry of innovative solution providers has reframed the bounds of the vendorscape while introducing the potential for improved economics and organizational agility. Recognizing the overall product direction and technical underpinnings of their platform had reached an inflection point, executives at a European-based OTT solution provider realized they needed to evaluate their position in the market and deliver a comprehensive two-year plan to their board.

What We Did

Konstrukt was engaged by C-level executives of the company to provide a holistic proposal with respect to how the company should move forward. To address this mandate, the team tackled the project along three distinct dimensions: product, engineering and execution. The product track led to a series of workshops where Konstrukt presented the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. The workshops ultimately allowed the company to identify a unique and differentiated path forward. The engineering track looked at the technical, non-functional and competitive impediments facing the company’s existing product and came back with specific recommendations spanning architecture, technology and methodology. The execution track considered the ways the company could execute on the recommendations of the product and engineering tracks; ultimately, producing a comprehensive plan and financial model addressing timelines, team structure, staffing, costs and risks.

Outcome

The executive team used the results of Konstrukt’s study as the foundation of their board-level presentation. The market analysis and extensive cost-modeling performed by Konstrukt made it easy to assess the risks and upside potential of the plan and ultimately converge on a path forward.
